The oninstall property of the ServiceWorkerGlobalScope interface is an event handler fired whenever an install event occurs (when the service worker installs). This happens before activation.
ServiceWorkerGlobalScope.oninstall = function(event) { ... };
ServiceWorkerGlobalScope.addEventListener('install', function(event) { ... }); The following snippet comes from Using Service Workers; go there for more details.
this.addEventListener('install', function(event) {
event.waitUntil(
caches.create('v1').then(function(cache) {
return cache.add(
'/sw-test/',
'/sw-test/index.html',
'/sw-test/style.css',
'/sw-test/app.js',
'/sw-test/image-list.js',

'/sw-test/gallery/',

);
})
);
